ALBANY -- A visit to an emergency room turned violent Tuesday afternoon when a 36-year-old man brandished a foot-long black club in threatening a Rensselaer man, police said.

Charles Dixon of North Allen Street brought a friend to the emergency room at the Albany Medical Center Hospital, police said. At about 12:45 p.m., the woman friend got into an argument with Robert Callahan of Rensselaer in the waiting room, police said.
