Fed: Four new appointments to Takeovers Panel

CANBERRA, April 23 AAP - Four new appointments were today made to the federal body
responsible for resolving disputes during company takeovers.

Guy Alexander, a partner at Allens Arthur Robinson, Graham Bradley, chairman of the
Film Finance Corporation, Byron Koster, a partner in Blake Dawson Waldron, and Norman
O'Bryan, SC, a Victorian barrister, will join 39 other members of the Takeovers Panel.

Treasury parliamentary secretary Ross Cameron said the new four appointments would
add to the panel's overall experience.

"The extensive skills and experience of these appointees will help ensure that the
panel continues to provide a mechanism for peer review of takeover activity that is more
efficient and expeditious than the courts," he said in a statement.

The panel, whose members work on a part-time basis, tries to resolve disputes in company
takeovers during the takeover bid period.
