Fed: Costello talks down cuts to fuel excise

PETER COSTELLO has dampened speculation of a decrease in fuel excise to relieve motorists'
costs .. amid high petrol prices.

The Treasurer's told the Nine Network he knows people are suffering at the bowser.

But Mr COSTELLO says the rise in petrol prices is being caused by the high oil prices
.. not the excise.
