NSW: Lindstrom's guilty plea in murder conspiracy case

SYDNEY, Dec 19 AAP - Swedish-born Sydney socialite Charlotte Lindstrom has pleaded
guilty to soliciting an undercover policeman to kill crown witnesses in her boyfriend's
drugs trial.

Lindstrom, 23, today appeared briefly via video-link in Central Local Court today,
where she formally entered a plea of guilty to one count of soliciting murder.

Dressed in prison greens, the socialite who also worked as a waitress, smiled and said
"thank you" as Magistrate Allan Moore remanded her to face the NSW Supreme Court for sentencing
on Friday.

Her lawyer, Philip Stewart, said he anticipated the remaining charges, including conspiring
to murder the witnesses and drugs charges, would be dropped following her guilty plea.

Mr Stewart also said Lindstrom would give evidence against her former boyfriend Steven
Spaliviero and another two co-accused.

"She's definitely going to give evidence against Mr Spaliviero," Mr Stewart told reporters.

"She will also give evidence in any other matters for which she is required.

"One anticipates that if she gives assistance to the authorities she will be given
the appropriate treatment on sentence in accordance with well established principles of
law."

Mr Stewart said Lindstrom was currently in good health and he anticipated were she
sentenced to fulltime custody, the term would be served in Australia and not her native
Sweden.

Her parents, who had previously come to Australia to support Lindstrom, were not currently
in the country and would not be visiting their daughter for Christmas, Mr Stewart said.

Lindstrom was currently in protective custody and would have served nine months in
jail by her anticipated February sentencing date, Mr Stewart said.

Lindstrom will appear in person for Friday's sentencing proceedings.
